Everyone Wants Huskers to Git ‘R Done, Especially Freshman Cody Green

Cody Green, Nebraska's freshman quarterback starter last week and a possibility to start again Saturday night against 20th-ranked Oklahoma, has had a whirlwind week.

But in the midst of intense practices and under the daily scrutiny of the state's media, Green still found time to smile and ease the burden on his 18-year-old shoulders.

In an impromptu session of Quick Hits, the Huskers.com video series, Green covered lots of ground and couldn't resist borrowing a line that seems important to him this weekend.

It comes from one of his two favorite comedians. In fact, Green does a quick, but decent impersonation of Larry the Cable Guy.

Green has had to grow up fast. He's gone from "having a blanket on me at the beginning of the season" to knowing that Shawn Watson would "kind of protect me" and put him in situations that Nebraska's offensive coordinator knew Green could handle.

Now, "I don't need protection," Green said earlier this week. "I feel like I can go in there and compete with the best of them and make plays. That comes with having confidence in the offense, confidence in my ability and confidence in the coaches and the players around me."
