DALLAS, TEXAS – Nebraska continued preparations for the 71st AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic with a 90-minute practice Thursday at Texas Stadium. Thursday featured several Cotton Bowl activities for the Huskers, including a high school coaching clinit at Texas Stadium, offensive unit press conference at the Omni Mandalay Hotel and a visit by Huskers to the Dallas Children's Medical Center following practice.

Nebraska again conducted its workout in shorts and shoulder pads in what was a normal “Tuesday” practice under cool but ideal conditions.

“In terms of the volume, the tempo, the load and everything we set out to do, it was achieved (in today’s practice),” said Head Coach Bill Callahan. “We’re pleased with the practice. They are talking about rain (Friday). We’ll just deal with the elements if it does so. We’ve gotten the bulk of our work done in these two practices.”

On hand for Nebraska’s practice were approximately 60 Texas high school football coaches, invited to attend by Coach Callahan and the Husker athletic department. Following practice, Coach Callahan and his assistant coaches led a chalk talk session for the high school coaches to interact with his staff by position and ask questions about the Huskers practice drills and techniques.

“Texas high school coaches love football,” Callahan said. “They don’t care what time of year it is; whether it’s Christmas, New Year’s, whatever. Anytime they can talk ball, we want to encourage that. They are on break and watching football in the area. We thought we would extend ourselves a little bit more and invite them to share in what we are doing.”

On the injury front, junior I-backs Brandon Jackson and Kenny Wilson and senior offensive guard Greg Austin all participated in Thursday’s workout. Sophomore I-back Cody Glenn, who missed Nebraska’s last two games with a foot injury, is slated to return to practice Friday.

Nebraska will practice Tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Texas Stadium. Defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove and selected defensive players will participate at a news conference from 3-4 p.m. at the Omni Mandalay Hotel.
