I-Back Marlon Lucky will be part of the top offensive unit on the Red Squad on Saturday.

Nebraska hit the practice field before dawn on Thursday for its final practice before Saturday’s Red-White Spring Game at Memorial Stadium. The Huskers took the field in the Hawks Championship Center shortly after 6 a.m. and completed a one-hour and 45-minute workout.

The practice was Nebraska’s 14th of the spring season, and represented an opportunity for final improvements before Saturday’s game-like atmosphere. Offensive coordinator Shawn Watson said the offensive unit has made steady progress throughout the spring.

“We have gotten better every practice,” Watson said. “You can see the younger players developing and you see them getting it better now.”

Watson said the spring game should provide a fun environment for the players and give the coaching staff an opportunity to see “how we developed across the board.”

Defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove also said he will be looking to see how players execute in front of Saturday’s expected large crowd.

“We want to see our kids play normal, fundamental techniques in our base defense and see how they will respond,” Cosgrove said. “Defensively, we are looking for play-makers and some big hits.”

Cosgrove said he has been pleased with the work during the spring, noting that the staff has had similar intensity to regular season practice during the 14 workouts with this spring.

Tickets for Saturday’s Red-White Game remain available through the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office. Tickets may be purchased on-line at Huskers.com on in person at the Ticket Office, which will remain open until 8 p.m. on Friday evening. The ticket office will open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, as will several ticket selling booths around Memorial Stadium.

The Husker Nation Pavilion will open to the public at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, with representatives of several Husker teams, including men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball and more signing autographs and mingling with fans. The Husker Sports Network will also conduct its pre-game show live from the Pavilion.
