The Big Red Football School has again expanded in 2007. After adding the Elite Quarterback Academy, Husker Youth Camp and Kicking Academy in recent years, the Nebraska staff will conduct the “Big Red Run-N-Gun” this summer, a one-day 7-on-7 camp for high school teams.

The 7-on-7 tournament will be held on Saturday, June 23 and will be the final session of the 2007 Big Red Football School. In addition to giving 48 teams the opportunity to compete against each other in an exciting and fast-paced format, campers will also received individualized instruction from the Husker coaching staff.

The Big Red Run-N-Gun Camp will utilize 12 fields of play, including two in Memorial Stadium and others on Nebraska’s practice fields around the stadium. The first 48 teams that register will comprise the camp.

The day will begin with registration at 9 a.m., followed by orientation and stretching. Teams will go through individual skill instruction to complete the morning, followed by lunch. Pool play in the tournament will begin at Noon, with the championship portion of the tournament set to begin at 3:30 p.m. The championship final is set for 5:45 p.m. in Memorial Stadium, with a trophy presentation to follow.

Each team will consist of at least 10 players, but there is no limit to the number of players on a team. A $250 deposit will hold a team’s spot in the camp, and individual schools may enter more than one team. For more information on the Big Red Run-N-Gun Camp, please contact Tim McFadden in the Nebraska Football Office at 402-472-5573 or by e-mail at tmcfadden@huskers.com.

In addition to the 7-on-7 camp, the 2007 Big Red Football School also consists of the Husker Youth Camp (June 7-9), two high school sessions (June 10-12, June 14-16), the Elite Quarterback Academy (June 16-18) and the Kicking Academy (June 21-22). For more information on any of the sessions of Big Red Football School, please visit Huskers.com or call the Nebraska Football Office at 402-472-3116.
