Lincoln - The No. 2 seed Nebraska baseball team (37-18, 16-8 Big Ten) is set to open the 2016 Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park when it plays the No. 7 seed Michigan State Spartans (34-18, 13-11) at 1:03 p.m. The winner or Wednesday's game will play at 5 p.m. on Thursday against Indiana or Maryland, while the loser will play at 9 a.m. on Thursday against Indiana or Maryland.

Lincoln In front of more than 5,500 fans on Saturday afternoon at Hawks Field the Nebraska baseball team (37-18, 16-8 Big Ten) completed a three-game sweep of the Indiana Hoosiers (31-22, 15-9 Big Ten) with a 3-0 win, which locked up the No. 2 seed at next week's Big Ten Tournament. Five seniors were on hand for their final game at Hawks Field on Saturday, including Jeff Chesnut, Taylor Fish, Colton Howell, Jake Placzek and Steven Reveles.

Lincoln Freshman Matt Waldron continued to toss zeroes up on the board Friday night at Hawks Field, as the Omaha native followed up his complete-game shutout of Penn State with a 8.0 scoreless inning against the Indiana Hoosiers. The Huskers blanked the Hoosiers 2-0 to secure a series victory and now Nebraska and Indiana are tied in the Big Ten standing at 15-8 on the year entering tomorrow's regular season finally.

Lincoln - The Nebraska baseball team (34-18, 13-8 Big Ten) ends the 2016 regular season this week with a three-game Big Ten series against the Indiana Hoosiers (31-19, 15-6) at Hawks Field. The series runs Thursday-Friday-Saturday, with the first two games of the series each starting at 6:35 p.m. Saturday's finale is scheduled for 1:02 p.m. and will be carried live on the Big Ten Network.

Omaha Behind a career night from sophomore Scott Schreiber, the Nebraska baseball team (34-18, 13-8 Big Ten) took the season-series from the Creighton Bluejays (34-14, 11-4 Big East) with a 15-2 win at TD Ameritrade Park. Nebraska's offense pounded out a season-high 22 hits, including five from Schreiber, four from Jake Meyers and three each from Ryan Boldt and Jesse Wilkening. It's the most hits by Nebraska's offense since March 16, 2012, when they pounded out 24 against Louisiana Tech.

Waldron, Miller Earn Big Ten Honors

Lincoln A pair of Huskers earned weekly awards from the Big Ten Office on Monday, as Ben Miller was named Big Ten Player of the Week, while Matt Waldron was named both Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week and Big Ten Freshman of the Week. It's the first time either player has earned a weekly award from the league office, and marks the second straight week the Huskers have earned freshman of the week honors after Chad Luensmann was honored last week.

Lincoln With a series victory on the line Sunday afternoon at Hawks Field, the Nebraska baseball team (33-18, 13-8 Big Ten) dominated the Penn State Nittany Lions (27-25, 11-10 Big Ten) by a score of 8-1. Sophomore Jake Meyers won his fourth straight start to improve to 5-1 on the year, as he went 7.2 innings and struck out a career-high five. At the plate the Huskers recorded 14 hits, with Ben Miller and Scott Schreiber combining to go 7-for-9 with four runs scored an six RBIs.
