Fischer, Wallace Named PGF Regional All-Americans

Infielder Carson Fischer and pitcher/infielder Courtney Wallace, who will both be freshmen on the Nebraska softball team in the fall, have been named Regional All-Americans by Premier Girls Fastpitch.

Spartans Top Huskers, 4-3, in Big Ten Tournament

Madison, Wis. --- The Nebraska softball team (31-23) had to attempt a come-from-behind victory against Michigan State (25-25) on Thursday in the first round of the 2018 Big Ten Softball Tournament, but the Huskers were unsuccessful, falling to the Spartans by a score of 4-3. NU fell behind 4-0 at the end of the third. The Huskers fought back, scoring three runs in the fourth, but it wouldn't be enough. The Huskers had plenty of opportunities to put the Spartans away though. Nebraska left 11 runners on base and went 3-for- 13 with runners in scoring position.

Huskers Look For B1G Run in Conference Tournament

The Nebraska softball team (31-22, 9-13 Big Ten) begins postseason action on Thursday when the team plays Michigan State (24-25, 10-11 Big Ten) at 4:30 CT in the first round of the 2018 Big Ten Softball Tournament at the Goodman Softball Complex in Madison, Wis.

Four Huskers Earn Conference Honors

Four Huskers were honored by the Big Ten, announced by the conference on Wednesday. Sophomore infielder Tristen Edwards was a unanimous first-team pick. Senior utility player Kaylan Jablonski and junior outfielder Alyvia Simmons earned second-team honors for the second consecutive year, while senior pitcher Caitlin Bartsch earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

Play Huskers Close Regular Season with Win Over Illini

Urbana, Ill. --- The Nebraska softball team (31-22, 9-13 Big Ten) snapped an eight-game losing streak on Sunday, beating Illinois (36-17, 13-8 Big Ten) by a score of 6-3. Nebraska scored four runs in the third and added two more insurance runs in the seventh to end the regular season with a win.

Huskers Fall to Illini, 6-2

Urbana, Ill. --- The Nebraska softball team (30-22, 8-13 Big Ten) hit two homers in the top of the seventh in an attempt to come back from a six-run deficit against Illinois (36-16, 13-7 Big Ten). However, the attempt came up short, as the Huskers dropped game two of the series on Saturday by a score of 6-2.

Husker Homers Not Enough, Illini Get Walk-Off Win

Urbana, Ill. --- The Nebraska softball team (30-21, 8-12 Big Ten) hit two homers in an attempt and pull off a come-from-behind win against Illinois (35-16, 12-7 Big Ten) on Friday night. Despite a tough battle, the Huskers fell to the Illini by a score of 5-4, after a walk-off single in the seventh.

Huskers Close Regular Season with Fighting Illini

Lincoln, Neb. --- The Nebraska softball team (30-20, 8-11 Big Ten) closes the regular season this weekend when it travels to Illinois (34-16, 11-7) to face the Fighting Illini May 4-6. Game one will be played Friday at 5 p.m. Game two will be Saturday at 1 p.m. and the series finale will be Sunday at noon. All three games will be available on Huskers.com (radio) and FloSoftball/BTNPlus (subscription required).

Lincoln, Neb. -- -The Nebraska softball team celebrated senior day on Saturday, following its game against Wisconsin, in front of a season-high 1,601 fans. The attendance ranked ninth overall in Bowlin Stadium history.
