Trio Qualifies for Winter Cup Finals

Las Vegas, Nev. Kyle King, Chris Stephenson and Griffin Kehler advanced to the Winter Cup Finals after stellar performances at the preliminary sessions on Feb. 15. The finals will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 9:15 p.m. (CT).

Huskers Send Four Gymnasts to Winter Cup

Las Vegas, Nev. - Kyle King, Antonio Castro, Chris Stephenson, Josh Martin and Griffin Kehler of the Nebraska men's gymnastics team have been invited to represent the Huskers at the prestigious Winter Cup in Las Vegas, Nev., and will get a shot at making the USA National Team. 2016 Olympians Sam Mikulak and Alex Naddour, along with reigning U.S. champion and World bronze medalist Yul Moldauer are also expected to compete. The competition is a two-day event and will feature 48 senior athletes competing in the Preliminary sessions on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. The top 28 will qualify into finals on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 7:15 p.m. Top finishers at the finals will be selected to compete for the USA National Team.

Men's Gymnastics 02/10/2018

Lincoln, Neb. The No. 3 Nebraska men's gymnastics team topped UIC 409.350 372.250 in front of a sea of pink at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in honor of breast cancer awareness. NU again scored high on vault (73.00), and also scored a season-high 68.80 on parallel bars. Jake Bonnay led the way for the Huskers, claiming the floor and high bar title with a 14.20 and 13.85, respectively. Antonio Castro again snagged the pommel horse title with a season-high 14.75. Heath Anderson claimed the rings title (14.30), while Anton Stephenson claimed the vault title (15.10). Last but certainly not least, Daniel Leal grabbed the parallel bars title, scoring a 14.20.

Huskers Fueled For Flames

Lincoln, Neb. The No. 3 Nebraska men's gymnastics team returns home for a meet against UIC on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Competition is set for 4 p.m. After finishing third last weekend against No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 2 Stanford in Norman, Okla., a win against UIC will allow NU to contend for the No. 1 spot again.

Huskers Set School Vault Record At OU
Men's Gymnastics 02/03/2018

Norman, Okla. Amongst stiff competition, the No. 2 Nebraska men's gymnastics team broke the school and set the top NCAA mark this season on vault with a 73.20 in their third-place finish at Oklahoma. The Huskers scored an overall 403.800 behind No. 4 Stanford (410.500) and No. 1 Oklahoma (418.000). Kyle King and Antonio Castro led the way for the Big Red, grabbing the vault and pommel horse titles. King scored a 15.10 on vault, while Castro scored a 14.60 on pommel horse.

Huskers Hope To Regain No. 1 Spot at Oklahoma

The No. 2 Nebraska men's gymnastics team will battle No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 4 Stanford in Norman, Okla., on Saturday, Feb. 3. Competition is set for 7 p.m. After falling one spot in the CGA Poll this week, the Huskers look to earn their No. 1 spot back, but it won't come easily. NU enters the McCasland Field House, where the Sooners haven't lost a meet since 2007.

Kehler Claims NCAA Rookie-of-the-Week Award

Lincoln, Neb. Freshman gymnast Griffin Kehler claimed his first NCAA Rookie-of-the-Week award after his outstanding performance against Ohio State on Jan. 20. He becomes the first Husker to receive an NCAA award this season.

No. 1 Huskers Face OSU In Home Opener

The No. 1 Nebraska men's gymnastics team opens conference competition against No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday. The competition will begin at 7 p.m. and will take place at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. As a co-ed meet, the men will compete alongside the NU women's gymnastics team as they take on Rutgers.
