Husker Baseball Fan Fest Set for Friday, Feb. 3

Lincoln â€" The Nebraska baseball team will host a free fan fest on Friday, Feb. 3, at the Hawks Championship Center. The event is free to the public and is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m. Fans do not need to pre-register for the event and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free piece of Valentino’s pizza and a bottle of water.

Meyers Named Preseason All-American by Perfect Game

Lincoln - Perfect Game released its Rawlings Preseason All-American teams on Monday and Nebraska junior Jake Meyers was a third-team pick. Meyers was the utility selection on the third team and was one of two Big Ten players named across the three teams, joining Maryland’s Kevin Smith, who was the first-team shortstop selection.

Red-White Tie 5-5, Reds Take Series

Lincoln – After the Red team took the opener of the Red-White Series on Friday night, the next two games ended in a tie, including Tuesday's series finale. The Reds trailed 3-0 after four innings on Tuesday, but rallied to take a 5-3 lead into the seventh. The White squad responded with a pair of runs and then kept the Reds off the board, resulting in a 5-5 tie.

Huskers End Fall with Red-White Series

Lincoln – The Nebraska baseball team will open its annual Red-White Series on Friday, Oct. 14, at Hawks Field, with game one of the series scheduled for 6 p.m. The series continues on Sunday at 7 p.m., while the finale of the three-game series will be on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Huskers to Play 23 Home Games in 2017

Head Coach Darin Erstad released Nebraska's 2017 baseball schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The 55-game schedule opens on Friday, Feb. 17, with a trip to Tempe, Ariz., where the Huskers will play four games against the UC Riverside Highlanders at Tempe Diablo Stadium, the Spring Training home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Following 11 games on the road to start the season, the Huskers host Northern Colorado for the 2017 home opener at Hawks Field on Tuesday, March 7.
