Lincoln Sophomore Jake Meyers hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning and earned the win on the mound in Nebraska's (25-15, 7-5 Big Ten) series clinching 4-2 victory over Nicholls State (17-24, 7-11 Southland) on Sunday afternoon at Hawks Field. The last time a Husker homered and earn a pitching win was on Feb. 21, 2009, when Adam Bailey did it against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Colonels Even Series with 7-1 Win

Lincoln After the Nebraska baseball team took the series opener last night at Hawks Field, the Nicholls State Colonels evened the series with a 7-1 victory on Saturday. Cole Stapler went all 9.0 innings for Nicholls State, his first career complete game and the first by an opposing pitcher this season

Friday's series opener is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., while Saturday's game is set for 2:05 p.m. and the series wraps up on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

Boldt Named to Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List

Lincoln Nebraska junior outfielder Ryan Boldt was one of 60 players named to USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch list on Wednesday. Boldt was one of 50 players named to the preseason Golden Spikes Award Watch list back in February. Boldt is the only Big Ten play on the on the midseason list, Michigan's Carmen Benedetti and Maryland's Mike Shawaryn were named to the preseason list.

Ann Arbor, Mich. After winning its first three Big Ten Conference series of the year, the Nebraska baseball team (22-13, 7-5 Big Ten) was swept by the #22 Michigan Wolverines (24-9, 6-2 Big Ten), dropping the series finale 6-1 on Sunday at the Wilpon Complex. It's the first time Nebraska has been swept in a three-game Big Ten series since April of last season when it went 0-3 at Iowa.
