Lincoln – The Nebraska baseball team opened the 2015 season on Friday, as the team had its first official practice of the season. The team started at Hawks Field, before later moving to the Hawks Championship Center.
Lincoln – The Nebraska baseball team will host a free Fan Fest on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Hawks Championship Center. The event is free to the public and is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m. Fans also do not need to pre-register for the event and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free hot dog, chips and water.
Lincoln – Nebraska senior pitcher Chance Sinclair was named a third-team Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American on Friday morning, announced by Collegiate Baseball. The Osawatomie, Kan., native was named a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball following the 2014 season, becoming the first Husker pitcher since Johnny Dorn in 2008 to earn All-America honors.

Lincoln – In a game that saw Bo Pelini (Blake Headley) play third base and a yellow teletubby (Wes Edrington) hit a home run off the left-field foul pole, the Red squad got a walkoff bases-loaded single by the White Power Ranger (Nathan Chunn) in the bottom of the sixth inning that gave the Reds a 5-4 win and a 2-1 series win in the annual Red-White Series.
Lincoln – Behind a combined one-hit effort from Jake Hohensee and Reece Eddins along with three runs in the first inning the Reds evened Nebraska's Red-White Series on Monday night with a 4-0 win.
Lincoln – The Red squad jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but the Whites scored 12 runs over the final three innings on their way to a 13-8 victory in the opening game of NU's Red-White Series.
The Nebraska baseball is set to conclude fall practice next week when it hosts its annual Red-White Series, starting on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. The series continues on Monday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. and concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Noon. Admission is free all three days and concession stands will be open with a limited selection.
