Huskers Headed to Clemson Regional

Lincoln For the second time in three years the Nebraska baseball team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Huskers, who are 37-20 on the year, earned an at-large invitation during the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Selection Show Monday morning on ESPNU and will play in the Clemson Regional.

Huskers Eliminated from Big Ten Tournament

Omaha The Nebraska baseball team (37-20) saw its time in Omaha come to a close on Thursday afternoon with a 6-2 loss to the Indiana Hoosiers (32-23) in an elimination game at the Big Ten Tournament. The Hoosiers got revenge on the Huskers after NU swept Indiana in Lincoln last week to end the regular season.

Omaha A five-run sixth inning by the Michigan State Spartans (35-18) doomed the Nebraska baseball team (37-19) on Wednesday afternoon, as the No. 7 seed Spartans beat the No. 2 seed Huskers, 5-1, in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Spartans scored all five of their runs in the sixth on five hits, while notching just three hits the rest of the game.

Eight Huskers Earn All-Big Ten Honors

Omaha Eight members of the Nebraska baseball team were honored by the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday afternoon, including Chad Luensmann who was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Luensmann was also named second-team All-Big Ten and is the first Husker baseball player to ever be named Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

Lincoln After being named Big Ten Co-Pitcher and Big Ten Freshman of the Week last week, Nebraska freshman Matt Waldron was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Tuesday morning. It's the first time a Husker has earned consecutive Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Week honors.

Lincoln - The No. 2 seed Nebraska baseball team (37-18, 16-8 Big Ten) is set to open the 2016 Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park when it plays the No. 7 seed Michigan State Spartans (34-18, 13-11) at 1:03 p.m. The winner or Wednesday's game will play at 5 p.m. on Thursday against Indiana or Maryland, while the loser will play at 9 a.m. on Thursday against Indiana or Maryland.

Lincoln In front of more than 5,500 fans on Saturday afternoon at Hawks Field the Nebraska baseball team (37-18, 16-8 Big Ten) completed a three-game sweep of the Indiana Hoosiers (31-22, 15-9 Big Ten) with a 3-0 win, which locked up the No. 2 seed at next week's Big Ten Tournament. Five seniors were on hand for their final game at Hawks Field on Saturday, including Jeff Chesnut, Taylor Fish, Colton Howell, Jake Placzek and Steven Reveles.

Lincoln Freshman Matt Waldron continued to toss zeroes up on the board Friday night at Hawks Field, as the Omaha native followed up his complete-game shutout of Penn State with a 8.0 scoreless inning against the Indiana Hoosiers. The Huskers blanked the Hoosiers 2-0 to secure a series victory and now Nebraska and Indiana are tied in the Big Ten standing at 15-8 on the year entering tomorrow's regular season finally.

Lincoln - The Nebraska baseball team (34-18, 13-8 Big Ten) ends the 2016 regular season this week with a three-game Big Ten series against the Indiana Hoosiers (31-19, 15-6) at Hawks Field. The series runs Thursday-Friday-Saturday, with the first two games of the series each starting at 6:35 p.m. Saturday's finale is scheduled for 1:02 p.m. and will be carried live on the Big Ten Network.
