Alexandrea Lorentz, a senior on the 2015-16 Nebraska rifle team, was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for her academic success during the 2015-16 school year. This is Lorentz's second consecutive year earning the award.
Lincoln - A total of 57 Husker student-athletes who combined for 45 All-America awards during their Husker careers received diplomas at University of Nebraska-Lincoln's commencement exercises at Pinnacle Bank Arena Saturday morning.
The Nebraska women's gymnastics and rifle programs were honored by the NCAA on Wednesday with public recognition for high achievement in the Academic Progress Rate (APR). Both programs were among the top 10 percent nationally among all squads in their respective sport.
The 2015-16 Nebraska rifle team produced its fourth consecutive top-eight finish, after placing eighth at the 2016 NCAA Championships, under second-year head coach Ashley Rose-MacAllister and first-year assistant coach Rick Johnson.
