After losing consecutive games for the first time in over a month this past weekend, the Nebraska baseball team (21-13-1, 5-3-1 Big Ten) will play four road games this week. The week starts with a midweek trip to TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha on Tuesday night for the second game in a three-game season series against the Creighton Bluejays (14-16, 5-1 Big East). Nebraska then heads to Minneapolis this weekend for three Big Ten Conference games against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Trailing 6-5 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning the Nebraska baseball team (21-13-1, 5-3-1 Big Ten) scored three runs, with two coming in on a triple by Mojo Hagge. Luis Alvarado closed the door in the ninth, his sixth save of the year, and the Huskers notched a 8-6 win to avoid a sweep by the Iowa Hawkeyes (22-12, 5-4 Big Ten). Nebraska hasn't been swept at home during conference play in 2009, when it was swept three times during Big 12 play by Kansas State, Texas and Missouri.

The Nebraska baseball team (20-13-1, 4-3-1 Big Ten) had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning, but was unable to put together a late rally in a 5-3 loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes (22-11, 5-3 Big Ten) on Saturday night at Hawks Field. The Hawkeyes secured a series win with the victory and have now won 13 of their last 16 games.

The Nebraska baseball team (20-12-1, 4-2-1 Big Ten) lost for just the second time in its last 13 games on Friday night, as the Iowa Hawkeyes (21-11, 4-3 Big Ten) took the series opener, 7-6, in 10 innings. The victory was the Hawkeyes' fifth straight over the Huskers.

The Nebraska baseball team (20-11-1, 4-1-1 Big Ten) will aim to win its seventh straight Big Ten series this weekend when it hosts the Iowa Hawkeyes (20-11, 3-3 Big Ten) for a three-game series. Going back to last season the Huskers have won six straight Big Ten series, with the last loss coming on April 15-17 last season when NU was swept at Michigan.
