Hawkeyes Walk-Off Huskers in 10 Innings

Iowa City, Iowa – With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 10th and the bases loaded with two outs, Jimmy Frankos had a full count against Garett King. The Hawkeye catcher hit a low line drive to left and Christian Cox nearly made a diving catch to send the game to the 11th inning, but the ball bounced out of his glove and the Hawkeyes walked off the Huskers to take the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday at Duane Banks Field.

Missed Opportunities Cost Huskers in 4-3 Loss

Iowa City, Iowa – Two-out hitting and three unearned runs were the story in Nebraska's 4-3 loss to the #17 Iowa Hawkeyes (28-11, 11-2 Big Ten) in Saturday's series opener. The Huskers, who fell to 30-14 on the year and 6-7 in league play, left 12 runners on base on the afternoon, including the bases loaded twice in the final three innings of the game. The Hawkeyes scored all four of their runs with two outs, including three unearned runs in the first inning following a two-out error.

Huskers Hit the Road to Face #19 Hawkeyes

Lincoln - After winning its final non-conference home game of the season Tuesday night, the Nebraska baseball team (30-13, 6-6 Big Ten) gets back to Big Ten play this weekend with a trip to Iowa City, Iowa, for a three-game series against the #19 Iowa Hawkeyes (27-11, 10-2 Big Ten).

Lincoln – Behind 12 hits, including home runs from Ben Miller and Scott Schreiber in the third inning, the Nebraska baseball team (30-13, 6-6 Big Ten) picked up its 30th win of the season on Tuesday night with a 10-4 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats (18-21, 5-10 Big 12). The Huskers are now 20-4 at Hawks Field this season, including a 14-1 record during non-conference play.

BTN Picks Up Two Nebraska Baseball Games

Lincoln – The Big Ten Network has announced that it will air two more Nebraska baseball games this season, as the network will air the final two games of Nebraska's three-game series at Illinois. Both games were wildcard picks and BTN still has one more wildcard selection left on Thursday, May 14.

Lincoln – On a day when both starting pitcher took the mound in the 10th inning, the No. 23 Nebraska baseball team (29-12, 6-5 Big Ten) dropped its first extra-inning game of the year and saw its six-game winning streak against the Ohio State Buckeyes (25-10, 8-3) come to an end. With the game tied 1-1 going into the 10th, the Buckeyes got a two-out RBI single to take the lead and the Huskers were unable to answer in a 2-1 loss.

Lincoln – The No. 23 Nebraska baseball team picked up its 29th win of the season on Friday afternoon with a 5-2 victory in its series opener with the Ohio State Buckeyes (24-10, 7-3 Big Ten). The Huskers, who are now 29-11 on the year and 6-4 in the Big Ten, have won six straight games over the Buckeyes dating back to the 2013 Big Ten Tournament.
