When Nebraska Head Coach Dan Kendig was hired in 1993, his goals were to return the Nebraska gymnastics program to national prominence and to have Nebraska in a position to win a national title, while also maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence for Husker student-athletes.
Kendig has not only accomplished those goals, but made them a standard for excellence in his more than 20-year tenure, as Nebraska is considered among the nation's elite in both the gym and the classroom.
Heather Brink enters her second season as Nebraska's associate head coach and her sixth season as a member of the Husker coaching staff. An 11-time All-American at NU, Brink is the Huskers' beam coach and assists with floor choreography and has numerous responsibilities including recruiting, travel accommodations and academics.
Russell Warfield enters his third year as a volunteer assistant coach at Nebraska in 2016-17.
Warfield assists with the Huskers' floor choreography, tailoring each routine toward the specific athlete. NU is known nationally and throughout the Big Ten for its outgoing floor routines.
Karin Fusco joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in January of 2009. She serves as the administrative assistant for women's gymnastics, the men's and women's golf teams and the rifle program.
