Career Recap:
One of the finest players in Nebraska history, Gene Stohs capped his career by earning first-team All-America honors from The Sporting News in 1972. A four-year letterwinner and an All-Big Eight selection, he batted .369, while leading the Huskers in hits (38), runs scored (22), doubles (7) and stolen bases (12). Stohs struck out just three times in 103 at-bats, while also working on the mound. Stohs went 7-8 in 26 career appearances on the mound, fanning 83 over 109.1 career innings.  Stohs also holds the distinction of being NU baseball’s first two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, earning second-team honors in 1970 and 1972.
