The Nebraska
divers travel to Houston, Tex., on Monday, Mar. 11, for the 2013 NCAA Zone D
Diving Championships held at the University of Houston's CRWC Natatorium. The
Zone Diving meet is a qualifying meet for the NCAA Diving Championships held
March 21-23 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Divers from Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas,
Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and
Wisconsin will be competing at the meet. Kailey Harmon, Amy Herman, Nicole
Schwery and Payton Michaud will be representing the Huskers, competing in the
one-meter, three-meter, and platform dives.
The meet will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday
with the women's three-meter diving competition. Tuesday will see the Huskers
compete in the one-meter dive, also beginning at 10 a.m. The meet will conclude
on Wednesday with the final event, the women's platform dive, starting at 11
a.m.

The Nebraska diving team finished competition
at the Zone D Diving Championships, held in Iowa City, Iowa from March 8-10.
The Zone competition serves as a qualifier for the NCAA Diving Championships.
Amy Herman earned the overall top
finish for the Huskers in the platform diving event. Herman finished eighth in
the final round with a total score of 499.85. Herman qualified in eleventh for
the finals with a preliminary score of 232.50. Kaitlan Walker (222.05), Alyson
Ramsey (214.75) and Kailey Harmon (214.10) also competed in the platform diving
preliminaries.
Payton Michaud and Alyson Ramsey
both earned a spot in the 3-meter diving finals with their performances in the
preliminaries. Michaud's final score of 569.70 earned her a twelfth-place
overall finish, while Ramsey's 558.10 earned her a 17th-place finish in the
finals. Amy Herman (261.00, 21st), Kailey Harmon (256.65, 24th) and Kaitlan
Walker (227.10, 32nd) also competed in the event.
The 1-meter dive saw Kaitlan Walker
reach the finals of the event with an overall score of 483.60. The performance
earned her an 18th-place finish, overall. Walker dove her way to a score of
261.75 in the preliminaries. Amy Herman (241.80, 26th), Alyson Ramsey (224.80,
31st), Payton Michaud (221.05, 32nd) and Kailey Harmon (215.75, 33rd) round out
the 1-meter preliminaries.
