No. 11 Huskers Set for Arnold Challenge
No. 11 Nebraska at Arnold Challenge

The No. 11 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team looks to jump back into action after a bye week, facing four top-ten teams at the Arnold Challenge. The Huskers will face Big Ten rivals No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 8 Iowa, as well Arizona State and the Canadian National Team. The meet will take place at St. John Arena at 2 p.m. CST. Fans who can’t make it to the meet will be able to view live stats on Ohio State's athletics website, OhioStateBuckeyes.com. 2013 NCAA Finish: 1st
Since their last meeting with the Huskers, No. 2 Michigan took a week off to prepare some of their gymnasts for the 2014 Winter Cup. Juniors Stacey Ervin and Adrian de los Angeles made it to the finals, however neither were named to the Senior National Team. The rest of the team has spent their time off preparing for the final stretch of their regular season. Senior Sam Mikulak, a strong member of the U.S. National Team, will be competing in the American Cup instead of traveling to Columbus with his teammates.

2013 Record: 6-6-1
2013 NCAA Finish: 5/6 (Qualifier Session 1)
No. 3 Ohio State kicked off their season with a majority of the other Big Ten teams at the Windy City Invitational on Jan. 19. The Buckeyes finished the meet tied for second with Illinois, earning a team score of 436.050. Ohio then suffered two road losses against Illinois and Michigan, before returning home for their first victory of the season. The team beat California for their home opener with a score of 443.300. Ohio State freshman Sean Melton was named to the U.S. Senior Men's National team at the 2014 Winter Cup. Melton was also named Big Ten Gymnast and Freshman of the Week and CGA Gymnast of the Week after his performance at the Winter Cup.

A Glance at Iowa

2013 Record: 7-12
2013 NCAA Finish: 5th
Since their last meeting with the Huskers, No. 8 Iowa traveled to Chicago to face off against the UIC Flames. The Hawkeyes won on the road, beating UIC 431.400-409.900. One Iowa gymnast, Matt McGrath, moved on to the finals at the Winter Cup last week.
