Phil Hood has worked in the athletic department since 1984, and currently serves as a trade supervisor for the athletic department facilities. Hood holds the athletic department licenses for Class A electrical contractor, Grade VI water operator, journeyman HVAC, apprentice plumber and gas fitter and Class A swimming pool operator.
A lifelong Nebraskan, Hood earned a construction management engineering degree from Nebraska in 1974. Hood is a past-president of the local chapter of ABPA and past-chapter chairman of the Eastern Nebraska Chapter of the International Organization of Plumbers and Mechanical Officials. He is also a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
Hood teaches Grade VI water operator classes at the Associated Builders and Contractors, Association in Lincoln. He also mentors young apprentice tradesmen on campus and in the city of Lincoln.
