Vanden Bosch Helping Out in Tennessee
Tennessee Titans All-Pro defensive end and former Husker Kyle Vanden Bosch will help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee celebrate the "Brighter Future" of the 2008 Youth of the Year by serving as the guest speaker at the awards dinner.
Since joining the Titans in 2005, Vanden Bosch has become a leader in the locker room and on the field. He has a team-high 31 sacks in his three seasons and led the defensive linemen in tackles. He has twice been voted to the Pro Bowl and was named a captain for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
As a senior at Nebraska, Vanden Bosch was one of six NCAA Division I-A players to garner National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete honors. Vanden Bosch also received one of the most prestigious awards in the nation for student-athletes with the Vincent de Paul Draddy Scholar-Athlete Award, which includes a $25,000 postgraduate scholarship. He was also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, graduating with a 3.82 GPA as a finance major.
"Kyle emobodies the qualities and character that Boys & Girls Clubs work everyday to instill in our club members through our core programs - Education & Career Development - Character & Leadership Development - Health & Life Skills - The Arts - Sports, Fitness & Recreation," said Bob Jacobs, business development manager. "We are thrilled he is joining us on this evening to celebrate the bright future of some of our club members."
The event will be held Monday, April 28 at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville, and approximately 600 people are expected to gather for dinner and a silent auction. The money raised will go to support comprehensive programs dedicated to positive youth development.
Vanden Bosch will announce the Middle Tennessee Youth of the Year, who will receive a $2,500 college scholarship. Vanden Bosch will also be on hand prior to the start of the event for a Pose Reception.
