Outlook: A walk-on, junior Blake Wentz will provide depth for the Huskers and could possibly see some doubles action.
Fall 1998: Wentz did not see action during the fall.
1997-98: Wentz did not crack the singles lineup but teamed with both Andrew Dinovitz and Dinko Verzi in doubles play, posting a 1-1 mark.
1996-97: Wentz primarily played a reserve role during his first season of collegiate tennis. Wentz, who was already enrolled at NU, walked on before the 1996-97 season. He earned honorable-mention academic All-Big 12 honors in 1997.
Other: At Lincoln Southeast, Wentz was a four-year letterwinner in tennis. In 1994, he finished third in the state at No. 1 singles. Wentz also was a standout in the classroom, earning academic all-conference honors at Lincoln South-east. The son of Tim and Marsha Wentz, Blake was born on Oct. 19, 1976, in Lincoln. He has one older sister, Megan. A finance major, Wentz carries a 3.174 GPA.
