2003 Outlook
Junior tight end Alex Shada (pronounced SHAY-da) had an injury-plagued 2002 season, but returned to full health in the spring and will push for playing time this fall. Shada enters fall camp listed fifth at tight end, but the position offers a chance for extensive game action after four seniors graduated last season. A gifted athlete, Shada has split time between the gridiron and the track at Nebraska.

2002 (Sophomore)
Shada missed most of last season with an injury to his right shoulder and did not see any game action.

2001 (Redshirt Freshman)
Shada played against Rice, but did not have a reception.

2000 (Redshirt)
A walk-on athlete, Shada redshirted his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Wahoo HS)
Shada played tight end and linebacker for Coach Dick Tingelhoff and Wahoo High School and handled the Warriors? punting and kicking chores. Shada was the Fremont Tribune Athlete of the Year as a senior and was also an all-state and all-conference selection. Shada earned four letters each in track, basketball and football and was a member of the National Honor Society.

The son of Randy and Diane Shada, Alex was born on March 12, 1982. He is majoring in communication studies and carries a 3.342 cumulative grade-point average. Shada has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner?s Honor Roll six times and was an honorable-mention Brook Berringer Citizenship Team pick for his volunteer work.
