Huskers Welcome Falcons and Panthers To Lincoln
The Huskers are set to host Air Force and Northern Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, in Lincoln, Neb. at the Nebraska Tennis Center. Nebraska sits at 3-3 overall after a two win weekend last week with a 5-2 victory over both Eastern Michigan and Illinois State. Nebraska and Air Force have met six times in history with Nebraska leading the series 6-0. NU has faced Northern Iowa a total of 10 times, with Nebraska sweeping the series 10-0.
Huskers In The ITA National Rankings
Nebraska dropped to No. 53 in the ITA Top 75 when the new rankings were released on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
The Big Red are one of seven Big Ten teams in the ITA Top 75. Nebraska is joined by No. 8 Northwestern, No. 16 Michigan, No. 31 Purdue, No. 37 Indiana, No. 42 Illinois and No. 65 Penn State. The Huskers are the sixth-highest ranked Big Ten team only trailed by No. 65 Penn State. Michigan and Northwestern are the only two Big Ten teams inside the top 25.
Sophomore Maggy Lehmicke, who is 23-14 overall on 13-5 singles and 10-9 doubles is ranked at No. 80 in the ITA Top 125 Singles national rankings after dropping from No. 63 in the previous list.
Scouting the Air Force Falcons

The Falcons aren’t nationally ranked with no ranked singles or doubles players in the ITA rankings. Air Force went 13-11 in 2013 and 2-6 in the Mountain West Conference. The Cornhuskers and Falcons have met six times throughout history, with Nebraska leading the series 6-0.
Scouting the Northern Iowa Panthers

2013 Record: 8-11, 2-5 MVC
The Panthers aren’t nationally ranked with no ranked singles or doubles players in the ITA rankings. NIU went 8-11 in 2013 with a 2-5 mark in the MVC, falling 4-1 in the first round of the conference tournament to Drake. Nebraska and Northern Iowa have met 10 times throughout history, with Nebraska sweeping the series 10-0.
Following this weekend, Nebraska are set to host Drake on Friday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. and Colorado State on Sunday, March 2 at 11 a.m. The Cornhuskers have 13 more home matches this season including this weekend’s duals.
