Chad Chiesa joined the Nebraska Athletic Department as a IT specialist within computing services in 2009. In November of 2014 he was promoted to IT operations manager. He serves as the technical director for football, men's and women's basketball, baseball and wrestling events, while overseeing technology needs for all sports. He also serves as the public address announcer for the softball and swimming and diving teams.
Chiesa contributes to special projects throughout the athletic department and serves as its primary server and network administrator.
Originally from Omaha, Chiesa attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha College of Information Science and Technology, where he majored in information systems and quantitative analysis. During his time as an undergraduate, he began working for the college as a systems assistant before assuming a role as an operations administrator/network specialist for the Peter Kiewit Institute. He went on to become the institute's lead network administrator.
While in high school at Omaha North and after graduation, Chiesa also worked in the athletic department, serving as the lead video technician for football, basketball and soccer; a statistician for football and basketball contests; and assisting in the management of event logistics for home varsity football contests.
