Lincoln - Nebraska Baseball
Coach Darin Erstad announced on Tuesday the dates and times for the Huskers'
annual Red-White Series at Hawks Field. The three-game series will begin on Tuesday,
Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m., while game two will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 3:30
p.m. and the final game of the series will be a night game at Hawks Field on
Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.
The Red
squad will be looking for redemption after being swept by the White squad last
fall.
Admission is
free for all three games of the Red-White Series and a concession stand will be
open at Hawks Field. Parking for every game will be free as well.
After
qualifying for the conference tournament last season for the first time since
2008, the Huskers return a hungry group in 2013 that will be looking to make
the NCAA Tournament. Fans will see quite a few new faces at Hawks Field, as the
coaching staff has brought in 13 new players for the 2013 season.
The Huskers
have already announced their 54-game schedule and open play on Friday, Feb. 15
at CSU Bakersfield. Nebraska will play 18 games against 2012 NCAA Tournament
teams, including two games against 2012 College World Series qualifier Arkansas
at Hawks Field. The series with the Razorbacks marks the third straight year
that the Huskers have hosted a CWS team from the previous season, as UCLA
visited Lincoln in 2011 and California split a four-game series at Hawks Field
last season.
