2013-14 (Senior)
Kristin Strecker wrapped up a solid Husker career with a strong senior season. She notched 15 top-five performances in her final campaign, boosting her career total to 52. Both of the senior swimmer's victories came against Northern Iowa, coming in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.58) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.81) in 2013-14. Strecker wrapped up her career at the 2014 Big Ten Championships, claiming a 29th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.99), a 32nd-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.43), and a 68th-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.31).

Strecker continued to be a star in the classroom, earning academic All-Big Ten honors for the third consecutive year. A biological sciences major, Strecker earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2014. She also claimed a spot on the inaugural Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2014, while helping the swimming and diving program capture its third consecutive Nebraska Life Skills Team Award.

2012-13 (Junior)
Strecker continued to produce for the Huskers in 2012-13, recording nine top-five finishes and two event victories on the season. Strecker competed in six different events as a junior, earning wins against North Dakota/St. Cloud State in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.75) and South Dakota State in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.62). She also set respective career-best times of 1:03.63 and 2:17.10 in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes at the Iowa Invitational in Iowa City.

In the classroom, Strecker earned academic All-Big Ten honors for the second consecutive season, and was selected to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.

2011-12 (Sophomore)
Strecker established herself as one of Nebraska’s most versatile swimmers as a sophomore. She competed in nine events during the course of the season and set a personal best at the 2012 Big Ten Championships in the process (100-yard breaststroke, 1:05.63). Strecker notched 11 top-five finishes on the year, earning wins against Nebraska-Omaha (100-yard breaststroke, 1:07.55) and South Dakota State (200-yard breaststroke, 2:25.82).

A standout in the classroom, Strecker was one of four Huskers to earn a prestigious Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award in 2012. She added academic All-Big Ten honors and was selected to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall semester of 2011 and spring semester of 2012.

2010-11 (Freshman)
Strecker produced a strong freshman campaign, claiming 17 top-five finishes in her first season as a Husker. She set a career-best time of 2:06.70 in the 200-yard individual medley at the 2011 Big 12 Championships and earned a win in the 200-yard breaststroke against South Dakota State. Strecker also recorded a trio of second-place finishes during the 2010-11 season.

Strecker starred in the classroom as well, claiming spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both the fall semester of 2010 and spring semester of 2011.

Previous
Strecker was a 2009 NSCA Junior National Finalist and the 2010 Kansas Girls Swimmer of the Year at Hayden High School in Topeka, Kan. She also earned first-team all-state honors at the state high school meet. Strecker won the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley at the state meet and helped her team to victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Personal
Kristin was born on July 12, 1991, in Topeka, Kan. She is the daughter of Rick and Kathy Strecker and has two sisters, Shannon and Mary, and one brother, Jordan. A biological sciences major, Kristin earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2014. A three-time academic All-Big Ten choice (2012, 2013, 2014), she was also a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2012 and 2014. She earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14. Strecker was a two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She was also an inaugural member of the Tom Osborne Osborne Citizenship Team in 2014, while helping the swimming and diving program claim its third consecutive Nebraska Life Skills Team Award.
