Huskers Topple Cowgirls

Lincoln, Neb. - Several hard fought wins and commanding performances paved the way for the Nebraska women's tennis team's 6-1 victory over Wyoming on Friday. The No. 33 Huskers rose to 2-1 on the season, while the No. 75 Cowgirls dropped to 2-1.

The dual kicked off at 5 p.m. with doubles action. The No. 4 singles match saw Putthoff take the court against Wyoming's van Ginkel. The match was a hard-fought battle, but resulted in a 7-6(5), 6-2 victory for van Ginkel. It was Wyoming's only singles victory on the day.
