A pair of former Huskers recently competed at the Commonwealth Games, as Chad Wright and Nicholas Gordon each represented their home country of Jamaica at Hampden Park Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland.

Wright took sixth in the men’s discus, as he was one of two Jamaicans to finish in the top 10, with Jason Morgan finishing third. Wright qualified for finals with a toss of 200-4 and then placed sixth out of 12 competitors in the finals with a mark of 197-11.

Gordon was one of 25 jumpers in the men’s long jump competition and was unable to advance 12-member final. The 2009 NCAA indoor long jump champion finished 18th in the qualifying round with a jump of 24-2 ¼.

Jamaica finished second in the medal count with 19, while it tied Kenya for the most gold medals at the meet with 10 each.
