Huskers Sign Washington Native for 2012

Lincoln-Nebraska women's tennis coach Scott Jacobson announced the signing of Kirkland, Wash. native Maggy Lehmicke on Thursday. Lehmicke will join the team in August 2012 and is expected to be a major contributer both on and off the court for the Huskers.

Lehmicke is a four-star recruit who has been ranked as high as No. 74 nationally. An attendee of Chrysalis School in Woodinville, Wash., Lemicke has also been ranked No. 2 overall in the state of Washington as well as No. 2 in in the Northwest region. She has competed in a variety of major tournaments across the nation, including the USTA National Championships.

"Maggy is going to be a tremendous addition to the team," Jacobson said. "Not only is she a talented tennis player, but an outstanding individual as well. She is going to be an incredible representative of our university both on and off the court. We feel privileged  she has chosen to attend Nebraska."
