Boyer can win his fourth state title this spring, a feat that has never been accomplished in Minnesota state high school history. Last season, Boyer won the state 2A singles championship, and in the semifinals he knocked off a top-10 National Junior player in Wyatt McCory, who now competes at Notre Dame. Boyer also defeated Texas A&M's Jackson Withrow this summer at the USTA National Team Championships."We are excited to sign Dusty Boyer to a scholarship and National Letter of Intent as he will make an immediate impact to our team next year," McDermott said. "He is the most successful high school player to come out of Minnesota. We feel that he is an up-and-coming player who will make a big jump at the college level. I love the fact that he is also a very good doubles player. His level of play will only get better as he matures in our program. He is a quality kid that is respected by his coaches and teammates and his enthusiasm is a coach's dream."
