Miller, White Named to All-Academic Team
Miller and White were among 104 athletes from 67 institutions nationally who earned all-academic status. The Big Ten Conference shared the top conference honors with the Big East Conference as 15 female athletes from their member institutions earned the award.
Miller and White are both nutrition and health science majors at Nebraska and were standout performers for the Huskers in 2011. Miller was named a second team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2011 and is a four-time academic All-Conference selection. White is a three-time academic All-Conference selection for the Huskers.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region's top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2011.
In addition, the Husker men's and women's teams were honored as 2011 Division I Cross Country All-Academic Teams. A total of 147 institutions were represented on the men's side, with 30 conferences composing the group. The Big Ten had eight teams make the list and the Nebraska men notched the third-highest GPA in the conference. A total of 205 institutions were represented on the women's side, with 30 conferences composing the group. The Big Ten had 11 teams earn All-Academic nods, and the Husker women posted the highest GPA of the group.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
