Guy, Collura Take Final Shot at NCAA Championships

The Nebraska swimming and diving team sends Shannon Guy and Taryn Collura to the University of Georgia's Last Chance Meet in Athens, Ga., this weekend to try and earn a spot at the NCAA Championships.
Preliminary sessions will begin at 10 a.m. on both Saturday, Mar. 1, and Sunday, Mar. 2. Saturday's finals will commence at 5 p.m., while Sunday's will start at 4 p.m.
Guy will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard butterfly for the Huskers. The senior swam a career-best 1:02.95 in the 100 breast and a season-best 54.16 in the 100 fly at last weekend's Big Ten Championships. NCAA A cuts are 59.19 and 51.90 in the respective events.
Collura is looking for a return trip to the NCAA Championships after competing at the national meet last season. The sophomore will swim the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, looking for NCAA A-cut times of 21.99 and 47.96. Collura competed in both events at the 2013 NCAA Championships and swam respective season bests of 22.68 and 49.54 at last weekend's Big Ten Championships.
Guy and Collura will face athletes from Georgia, Brenau, LSU, North Carolina State, Southern Illinois, Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida State, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida, North Carolina, Emmanuel, Arkansas, Western Kentucky and Kentucky.
