Athens, Ga. - Taryn Collura took third in the 50-yard freestyle and Shannon Guy finished seventh in the 100-yard butterfly at the first day of the University of Georgia's Last Chance Meet on Saturday at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.
Nebraska's first competitor, Collura, finished the 50-yard freestyle in 22.68, earning third place. Her time tied the season best she swam at last weekend's Big Ten Championships, but fell short of the NCAA A-cut time of 21.99. Collura will compete in the 100-yard freestyle on Sunday.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Guy swam a time of 55.01 to earn seventh place. The senior swam a 54.55 in the morning's preliminary round, just missing the 54.16 mark she swam at the Big Ten Championships. Guy also missed an NCAA A cut, but she will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke on Sunday.
