The Nebraska
bowling team returns to competition after a week off as the Huskers travel to
the James Brown Invitational held by Morgan
State University
in Towson, Md.
It will be the largest tournament to date for the Huskers as they compete in
the 28-team field. Competition begins Friday morning and will conclude Sunday
afternoon.
Head Coach Bill Straub
believes the team will be ready for the challenge this weekend even though the
team has a long travel day on Thursday.
“This will be our longest
travel we are going to have this year, so there is more to do and more
connections to make.” Straub said, “Hopefully we can get all of our equipment
up to the tournament, it’s a long way from home.”
Even though the team had
to back out of competition last week for the Southern University Invite do to a
format conflict, Straub said that the team has been competing at a high level
during practice.
“I like how the team has
been performing; hopefully the team can continue their success this weekend.”
Straub said, “This is a deep tournament field, and we are excited to see how
the team competes against some new competition.”
