Nebraska
fans who are in Lincoln on Saturday for the Husker football game with Wisconsin
at 7 p.m., will also have a free opportunity to watch the Nebraska baseball
team at 1:15 p.m. The Huskers are set to hold an intra-squad scrimmage on
Saturday afternoon that is free to all.
Saturday's
scrimmage is in addition to Nebraska's annual Red-White Series. The three-game
series will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m., while game two will take
place on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. and the final game of the series will
be a night game at Hawks Field on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.
The
Huskers have already announced their 54-game schedule and open play on Friday,
Feb. 15 at CSU Bakersfield. Nebraska will play 18 games against 2012 NCAA
Tournament teams, including two games against 2012 College World Series
qualifier Arkansas at Hawks Field. The series with the Razorbacks marks the
third straight year that the Huskers have hosted a CWS team from the previous
season, as UCLA visited Lincoln in 2011 and California split a four-game series
at Hawks Field last season.
