Baird Wins 400 Meters, Qualifies for World Championships

Future Husker Kadecia Baird won the 400 meters at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Athletics Senior Championships (CAC) on Saturday in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico.

Baird, who is competing for Guyana, posted a time of 51.32 to win the event. With that time she qualified to represent Guyana at the World Championships in Moscow in August. She is set to join the Huskers from Medgar Evers College Prep in Brooklyn, N.Y., and is coached by former Husker and three-time NCAA Champion Nicola Martial.
