Romero Aids in 1-0 Win at Algarve Cup

Algarve, Portugal - Nebraska senior
defender Ari Romero is currently representing the Nebraska soccer team at the 20th
Algarve Cup in Algarve, Portugal, as a member of the Mexican National Team.
Romero
and her teammates opened play on Wednesday, March 6 with a 1-0 win over Hungary,
with Romero playing all 90 minutes of the game.
Mexico
is playing in the tournament for just the third time in tournament history and
the first time since 2006.
Mexico
is set to finish group play with a game against Wales on Friday, March 8, and a
meeting with host-country Portugal on Monday, March 11.
An
invitation-only tournament hosted by the Portuguese Football Federation, the
Algarve Cup started in 1994 and is one of the most prestigious women's soccer
events, alongside the World Cup and the Olympics.
