Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team finished
its week of preparation for Friday’s Legends Division showdown
against Iowa Hawkeyes on Wednesday. The team practiced in jerseys and
helmets for approximately 90 minutes, splitting time between the Hawks
Championship Center and outside on the Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Field.
Head Coach Bo Pelini addressed the media after practice, noting
that he thought the team had a great practice on Wednesday.
“Well it’s been a short week, but we’ve got to
be ready to go,” Pelini said, “I thought we had a really good day today.”
Pelini believes even though the team had a short week of practice,
due to the Friday kickoff, the Huskers have responded well to the odd scheduled
week.
“Yeah I thought we have had a good week, good attention to
detail.” Pelini said, “We got a lot done, we had a little bit extra of walk
through time today. I feel good where we are.”
With five wins in a row, Pelini believes his team has confidence
heading into the final regular season game, hopefully leading
to the Big Ten Championship game.
“I like their approach,” Pelini said, “I think they understand
what we have in front of us, living in the here and now.”
