Brookings, S.D. - The Nebraska swimming and diving team defeated South Dakota State
177-106 in Friday afternoon's meet at the Jackrabbits' HPER Center Pool. The
Huskers are 9-0 on the season following the victory.
Eleven different Huskers
combined to win thirteen of the fourteen individual events on the day. Nebraska
also won both relays in the dominant performance against a South Dakota State
team that they are now 9-0 against all-time.
Once again, senior Hayley
Martin led the way with wins in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.14) and 200-yard
freestyle (1:53.32). Freshman Katt Sickle also added wins in the 200-yard
individual medley (2:10.44) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:06.08).
Other Husker winners on the
day were Bailey Pons, Bria Deveaux, Ashley Reiter, Natalie Morris, Taryn
Collura, Payton Michaud, Kristin Strecker, Shannon Guy, and Kailey Harmon.
Katie Davis, Ellan Dufour, Kelly Dunn, and Rebekah Land were also a part of
winning relay teams, as the squad put forth a true team effort in the victory.
Senior Devonne Dalin got the
lone victory for the Jackrabbits, winning the 100-yard freestyle in 53.58
seconds.
The Huskers return home to
face the Northern Iowa Panthers in a dual starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday
