The No. 27 Nebraska women's tennis team (7-1) will welcome the Wichita State Shockers (4-3) and the Colorado State Rams (2-4) to Lincoln this weekend for two home matches. The Huskers and the Shockers will kick off the weekend with a match on Friday at 5 p.m. before Wichita State and Colorado State face each other on Saturday at 11 a.m. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a matchup between the Huskers and the Rams at 10 a.m. Both of Nebraska's matches will have live stats available at Huskers.com.

Nebraska in the National Rankings
NU continued to move up in the latest ITA Division I Women's Tennis Rankings, coming in at No. 27 nationally in the Feb. 23 poll. Nebraska currently holds a 2-1 record over ranked teams this season, including wins over Arkansas and Wyoming and a loss to Northwestern. The Huskers maintained their ranking of third among Big Ten teams, trailing only No. 9 Northwestern and No. 11 Michigan.

Three Nebraska athletes hold positions in the singles rankings, with Mary Weatherholt leading the way at No. 57 overall. Janine Weinreich appears at No. 87, while Stefanie Weinstein holds the No. 118 ranking.

In the doubles polls, Madeleine Geibert and Stefanie Weinstein come in at No. 22 nationally. Geibert and Weinstein have defeated three ranked opponents this season and are the third-highest ranked doubles pair in the Big Ten.

Scouting the Wichita State Shockers
Head Coach: Colin Foster
2012 Record: 4-3
National Ranking: NR

The Wichita State Shockers enter the weekend with a 4-3 record on the spring.  Two of Wichita State's three losses this season have come at the hands of ranked opponents, including No. 41 Purdue and No. 66 Marshall.

The Shockers are led on the court by senior Lutfiana Budiharto, who holds a 6-1 spring record and has played exclusively at the No. 1 position for Wichita State. On the doubles court, sophomore Veronika Blaskova and freshman Lucia Kovalova hold a 5-2 record this season at the No. 1 spot.

Wichita State is led by Colin Foster, who is in his third season as head coach of the Shockers. He guided the Shockers to their fifth NCCA Tournament berth in school history in 2011.

Nebraska last faced Wichita State in 2011 at Wichita, coming away with a gritty 4-3 victory over the Shockers. NU is 15-10 all-time against Wichita State.

Scouting the Colorado State Rams

National Ranking: NR

The Colorado State Rams are 2-4 so far in 2012, holding wins over Arkansas State and Northern Arizona. The Rams are led by Jon Messick, who is in his 23rd season as their head coach.

The Rams have been paced in singles play this season by true freshman Natalie Heffron, who has appeared at the No. 3 singles position for CSU. Heffron is 5-1 so far this spring in singles play and has been a staple in the Colorado State lineup.

The Huskers faced the Rams last season, rolling to a  6-1 win. Nebraska is 13-0 all-time against CSU.

Looking Ahead
The Nebraska women's tennis team will continue its home stand next week, hosting former Big 12 Conference foes Kansas State and Colorado along with the Saint Louis Billikens at the Nebraska Tennis Center. The Huskers will face K-State on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 4 p.m. before taking on the Billikens on Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m. Nebraska wraps up the busy week agains the Buffaloes on Sunday, March 4 at noon.

Last Time Out: Huskers Fight Past Cougars, Redhawks
Nebraska picked up a pair of hard-fought wins last weekend, battling past the Washington State Cougars by a score of 4-3 on Friday before topping the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks on Sunday, 5-2.

The Huskers were paced on the weekend by senior Madeleine Geibert, who went 4-0 in singles and doubles play. Geibert picked up a crucial victory in No. 3 singles against Washington State's Anjela Kankaras that allowed NU to clinch the 4-3 victory over the Cougars. Geibert and doubles partner Stefanie Weinstein also extended their winning streak this spring, rising to 8-0 overall.

Nebraska swept both Washington State and Miami on the doubles courts last weekend, the fifth time this season the Huskers have done so. NU currently holds an outstanding spring record of 21-1 in doubles play, with their lone loss coming in No. 3 doubles against Northwestern.
