Huskers in 12th at Denver Desert Shootout

Goodyear, Ariz. - The Nebraska men's golf team is in 12th place at the Denver Desert Shootout after shooting 294 in Friday's second round at Palm Valley Golf Course.

The Huskers, who were tied for seventh after the first round, are at 6-over-par 582 with 18 holes to play. NU posted 288 in the opening round. Brigham Young leads the team competition by 14 strokes over Denver.

Scott Willman remained tied for fourth after his 1-under-par 71 in the second round. The score represents Willman's 11th subpar round of the 2011-12 campaign as he is seeking his second consecutive top-5 finish. He fired a 5-under-par 67 on Thursday and currently sits six shots off the pace.

Ross Dickson and Neil Dufford are tied for 64th at 149 strokes through two rounds. Dickson followed up Thursday's 74 with a 3-over-par 75 in the second round. Meanwhile Dufford carded a 6-over-par 78 after his first-round 71.

Manuel Lavin and Jordan Reinertson are tied for 71st at 150 through 36 holes. The pair matched 76s in the first round and 74s in the second round. Individual Ryan Grassel is also tied for 71st after shooting 75s on both days.
