By NU Athletic Communications

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska's men's gymnastics team completed their last intrasquad meet on Saturday in their practice areain the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Red team snagged the overall victory over the White team, claiming half of the six event titles.

The Huskers competed on floor exercise, pommel horse and rings on Friday. They completed the meet Saturday with vault, parallel bars and high bar. Almost everyone on the team competed in the meet, with only two sitting out due to injury.

Unlike NU's first intrasquad, team scores were compiled from each team's three best scores in each event. The Red team led after both sections of the competition, landing them with an overall win.

Junior Mark Ringle performed a solid routine on high bar (13.95), earning him the event title while Sam Chamberlain excelled on parallel bars (14.0), making him the first of the four freshman on the team to earn a collegiate title.

Grant Perdue recaptured the title on floor exercise, scoring a 15.5. The closest competitors to the All American were senior Wyatt Baier and Ringle, who tied for second with a 14.2.

Eric Schryver, one of the team's four co-captains, reclaimed his intrasquad title on pommel horse with a 14.3, followed by all around champion Wyatt Aycock and sophomore Connor Stillwell.

Still rings was dominated by specialist Donovan Arndt, who finished a solid performance with a score of 14.6. Baier and Robbie Kocks rounded out the top three on the event.

Video highlights of the intrasquad will be available on the team's Facebook page later this week. A play-by-play breakdown of the meet can be found on their Twitter account (@NebraskaMGym).

The Huskers will begin their regular season at the Rocky Mountain Open on Jan. 12, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Nebraska's debuts at home on January 27 against the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. CST at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
