Huskers Announce Addition to 2013 Roster

The Nebraska track and field team announced the addition of Florentia Kalogeraki to the 2013 roster on Wednesday.

Kalogeraki joins the Huskers from the General High School of Nea Alikarnassos in Heraklion, Greece. She recently finished first in the discus at the 2011 European Summer Olympic Festival, posting a throw of 158-6 (48.31). She has recorded a personal-best mark of 177-11 (52.42) in the discus, a top 10 mark in the world at the time. Kalogeraki was the 2010 and 2011 Greek Junior (U-19) National Champion and the 2010 Greek Youth (U-17) national Champion. She holds the Greek Youth (U-17) discus record (52.42) and was third at the Greek Senior Nationals in 2011.

Florentia is the daughter of Eleni Agapitou and was born on Oct. 5, 1994.
