Huskers Earn Team Academic award

Lincoln, Neb- The 2011-12 Nebraska bowling team earned a team academic award from the National Tenpin Coaches’ Association over this past weekend.  

This was the first year this award was given out nationally, and was presented to 17 teams with team overall grade point averages of 3.2 or above. NU’s overall team GPA last year was 3.327.

Assistant coach Paul Klempa was very pleased with the student-athletes earning the award, “It’s a credit to our student-athletes, these types of awards are won by them solely.” Klempa said, “It’s great to see our athletes manage their time wisely and put school first. These types of things makes our University look much better.”
