Tulsa, Okla. -  The Nebraska men's tennis team had their trip to the ITA All-American Championships Invite come to an end on Wednesday. The Huskers duo of Tom Blackwell and Marc Herrmann couldn't grab a victory in their third round qualifying doubles match.

Herrmann and Blackwell fell to Texas A&M's Jeremy Efferding and Jordan Szabo 3-8 in a tough match. The scarlet and cream coaches were excited about the performance the Huskers had in the tournament and are fueled to continue growing and succeeding in more battles to come.

"(It was a) tough match today for Tom (Blackwell) and Marc (Herrmann)!", Nebraska Head Coach Kerry McDermott said. "Our guys got off to a good start. They served well and returned serves really well but our play at the net kind of killed us today. We will need to work more on volleys and anticipation drills to get better in the future! Proud  of these guys for the way they competed this week and representing the 'N' on their uniforms with a solid effort. We need to continue to work hard and get the team ready for the regional competition coming up in a few weeks. We hope to just keep getting better and worry about improving each and every day!"

The Huskers have a two week break until their next fall event on Oct. 17-21 at the ITA Central Region Tournament in Tulsa, Okla. Until then, Go Big Red!
