Romero, Johnson Earn Weekly Recognition

Lincoln - Senior defender Ari Romero was named to CollegeSoccer360.com's Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday, while Jaycie Johnson earned yet another award being named Big Ten Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

Romero played the entire 90 minutes vs. Michigan State en route to a 1-0 victory, as the Huskers limited MSU to just six shot attempts, including three on net. Romero then played a big role in 83 minutes keeping Kristen Hamilton and the No. 14 Denver Pioneers in check en route to a 2-1 victory.

Johnson earned the award after notching the lone tally in the 1-0 conference opener against Michigan State and the go-ahead score in the 79th minute of Sunday’s exciting 2-1 victory over No. 14 Denver. Johnson was also named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday.
