Huskers Add Two to 2013 Roster
The Huskers added two to the 2013 roster on Wednesday.

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska track and field team announced on Wednesday the addition of Nikita Pankins and Santa Matule to the 2013 roster.

Pankins and Matule will join fellow Latvian Janis Leitis as newcomers on the 2013 roster. Pankins competed at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships and the 2011 Tallinn European Junior Championships, while Matule also competed at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships and the 2009 IAAF World Youth Championships.

Before Nebraska (Rigas Hanzas Secondary School)
Santa Matule will join the Huskers from Rigas Hanzas Secondary School in Riga, Latvia... Has recorded indoor personal bests of 7.71 in the 60 meters, 18-6 (5.64) in the long jump and 43-7 (13.28) in the triple jump and outdoor personal bests of 26.52 in the 200 meters, 19-2 1/2 (5.85) in the long jump and 43-11 3/4 (13.40) in the triple jump... She finished 13th in the triple jump at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships with a leap of 41-6 (12.65)... Took home a sixth-place finish in the triple jump at the 2009 IAAF World Youth Championships, recording a jump of 39-10 (12.14).

Before Nebraska (Evrika High School)
Nikita Pankins will join the Huskers from Evrika High School in Riga, Latvia... Has recorded indoor personal bests of 6.89 in the 60 meters, 23.03 in the 200 meters and 24-11 1/4 (7.60) in the long jump... Has also recorded outdoor personal bests of 10.95 in the 100 meters, 22.21 in the 200 meters and 24-9 3/4 (7.56) in the long jump... He finished 13th in the long jump at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships with a leap of 24-3 1/2 (7.40)... Also finished sixth in the long jump at the 2009 IAAF World Youth Championships, jumping 23-6 3/4 (7.18)... Finished with a jump of 24-0 1/4 (7.32) at the 2011 Tallinn European Junior Championships.
