Boyer Earns First Team All-Big Ten

Sophomores Dusty Boyer and Marc Herrmann took home awards from the Big Ten Banquet last Thursday in East Lansing, Mich. after the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. At the banquet, all members were announced for First and Second-Team All-Big Ten Conference as well as the Freshman of the Year, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and all of the Sportsmanship Award winners.

Boyer received First-Team All-Big Ten Honors at the banquet for his performances this season in the conference. Boyer was a stronghold on the singles court, heading up the Huskers lineup at the No. 1 spot and moving his way into the ITA Top 125 singles rankings later in the season. Another Husker to receive an award was Herrmann, who took home Nebraska's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

The criteria for the Sportsmanship Award is that the student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These student-athletes must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
