Minneapolis, Minn. - Samantha Hardewig finished 12th in the 200 breast and Taryn Collura took 12th in the 100 free, as the Nebraska swimming and diving team completed the final preliminary session of the Big Ten Championships. The Huskers competed in the preliminary rounds of the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard butterfly on Saturday morning at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
In the morning's first event, the 200-yard backstroke preliminaries, Rebekah Land raced to a career-best 1:58.69, finishing 21st. The junior earned an NCAA B Cut, the fourth spot on NU's all-time list in the event and a spot in this evening's C final.

Taryn Collura continued to shine for the Huskers, taking 12th in the 100-yard freestyle with a season-best 49.54. Collura earned an NCAA B cut and guaranteed her third straight point-scoring effort by claiming a spot in the B final.

In the 200-yard breaststroke preliminaries, Samantha Hardewig shaved nearly six and a half seconds off her career-best time, finishing in 2:14.69 to take 12th. Hardewig earned an NCAA B cut and a spot in the evening's B final.
Katie Ditter also swam a career best in the event for the Huskers, taking 24th with a time of 2:18.35. The sophomore will compete in Saturday evening's C final.
