Swimming times of 1:55.93 in the 200-yard freestyle and 56.76 in the 100-yard butterfly, Mexia set two career bests at the Big Ten Championships. She also compiled five top-five finishes, with two of those being second-place performances.

2012-13 (Freshman)

She notched a pair of top-five finishes against San Diego State, taking third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.35) and fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (58.52). Mexia also set personal-best times in the 100 fly (57.02), 200 fly (2:01.85) and 200 IM (2:11.19) at the Big Ten Championships in February.
